Who can apply?
The application must be submitted by a Principal Investigator affiliated with an eligible India-based university, college, research institute, or registered research organization.
The host organization must be able to officially receive, administer, document, and account for the grant funds. The applicant must have appropriate research experience, institutional support, and access to the facilities needed to complete the proposed project.
Independent applicants without an eligible host institution are not eligible.
What the grant may support
Grant funds may be used for approved project-related expenses, including:
Chemicals, reagents, and laboratory consumables
Sample preparation
Testing and characterization
Analytical and external laboratory services
Minor project-specific laboratory accessories
Prototype or material development
Project-specific software or data analysis
Approved fieldwork or sample collection
Other directly justified research expenses
How proposals will be evaluated
Applications will be reviewed based on:
Scientific merit and originality
Quality of methodology and feasibility
Expected impact and relevance
Capability of the Principal Investigator, team, and institution
Suitability and justification of the proposed budget
